Emily is born and bred in Taranaki, and has returned to the region as a consultant general surgeon. She trained in general surgery throughout NZ and works as a general surgeon at Taranaki Base Hospital.
She completed fellowship (subspecialty) training in breast, melanoma and endocrine surgery at Auckland City Hospital followed by The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne where she worked in a high volume oncoplastics unit.
She also completed a years' colorectal fellowship at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh and is an experienced gastrointestinal endoscopist.
Emily returned to NZ in 2014 to take up a consultant position. She is passionate about the region of Taranaki, and dedicated in provision of care to the community she loves.

Tom works at Taranaki Base Hospital as a gastroenterologist, and is Taranaki's clinical lead for the National Bowel Screening Programme.
After completing specialist training in 2013, Tom pursued fellowship training at the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and at Edinburgh's Western General Hospital's Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit.
His areas of professional interest include the measurement and monitoring of quality in endoscopy, management of inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease, and promoting equity in gastroenterologist workforce development.
