With sedation, a colonoscope is gently passed through the colon to identify and remove polyps, and diagnose other conditions.
A small camera is swallowed which takes many images as it passes through the small bowel. This can help to identify obscure sources of GI blood loss and diagnose inflammatory small bowel conditions.
